Why choose this kit ? The great benefit of our chromatic alginate is that it is relatively slow setting. Start to finish of the moulding process it takes my product 3 minutes. Some competitors take half that time which is just not enough time to work in.

The Chromatic Dental Alginate is sealed new and fresh, bought direct from the supplier so it has a shelf life of several years until opened. It is supersafe and can be used on the youngest child as designed for use in the mouth. It changes colour as you work with it telling you which stage you should be at from mixing to applying to setting.

EXTRA ITEMS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE CASTINGS

Its really easy to do, but you may like to get some small poly bags or preferably used milk or drink cartons to ladle in the alginate for baby's hand to be put in to make it more stable for the casting. Gloves are not necessary as the dried alginate peels off very easily.

You can also use this kit to mould an adult body part, though instructions must be followed carefully.

Please note :

Those who know best say that 450g of Alginate will make up to 5 new baby hands or feet. It will make one medium size adult hand and for an adult foot you need at least two 450g (probably 3) bags. Remember the Alginate is for making the mould only. After making the mould, you then need to make a casting from your mould. To do this you need casting plaster which is supplied with this kit. All of this is explained in simple, detailed help sheets provided with the kit.
