Baby Hand and Foot Moulding Alginate - 450g

YOU CAN PRODUCE A BEAUTIFUL CAST OF YOUR CHILD'S HANDS OR FEET IN A FEW SIMPLE STEPS AND AT A LOW COST.

This product is a 450g bag of Chromatic Dental Alginate -

• It is sealed new and fresh - just bought direct from the supplier so it will have a good shelf life (years) until opened.
• It is VERY IMPORTANTLY, relatively SLOW SETTING, i.e. 3 minutes for the whole process as against less than half this time for other brands. This allows you to work with the product without the need to panic !
• Supplied with a very valuable general help sheet.
• Can be used to cast small body parts of a child or adult of any age. Casting plaster should be purchased separately to complete the project.
• Also suitable for mouldings for fine art sculptures or a pregnant stomach mould.
• Super safe product for very young babies as designed originally for use in the mouth (dental mouldings).
• Peels off easily - no gloves required.
• Changes colour as you work with it telling you which stage of the process you are at.

EXTRA EQUIPMENT NEEDED

• You will need to pour the Alginate into polythene/food storage bags or (preferably) an upright drink beaker while making the casting
• Remember the Alginate is for making the mould only. After making the mould, you then need to make a casting from your mould. To do this you need casting plaster. See 1kg pack of Fine Casting Plaster which is ideal for the job. 1kg of plaster is more than enough to go with the 500g pack of Alginate.
• After making the casting let it dry thoroughly and if desired create a stunning sculpture by painting it gold, copper or silver and varnishing it - see metallic paints and varnish also available on this CRAFTMILL website.

N.B. as a guide, 450g of Alginate will make up to 5 new baby hands / feet. It will make 1 large adult hand. For an adult foot you need at least two 450g bags. ALGINATE ALSO AVAILABLE IN LARGER PACK SIZES - SEE CASTING PRODUCTS
